An ORaNGE GLOW

I saw an orange glow today up in the morning sky

It burst in colours golden then just faded from my eye

I thought at first it was a plane drifting south into the night

Then as quick as it appeared to me, it vanished from all sight

It might have been from Venus travelling on towards the Sun

Or from another galaxy unknown to everyone

I don’t know what’s out in the sky and off past distant stars

But I sit quietly at the break of day and gaze to worlds afar.
